Jenna Colquhoun Portraits

15 November 2009 – Just over a week ago I had the pleasure of working with Jenna Colquhoun and I was really looking forward to it because it was the first time that I was working with a solo female artist so it was something quite different.

Jenna is an Australian songwriter with a style that reminds me of The Cranberries who I think everyone at some point in time has had a soft spot for. I really enjoy the new stuff that Jenna has been working on and we met up to shoot on a rather cold, windy and very unpredictable rainy weathered day. It’s so funny because I keep looking at the weather reports every single day so that I can try and plan ahead with shoots but I do not think that the weather services has EVER predicted a forecast correctly. I know that it is quite hard to predict what nature is going to do but I would imagine with people being able to fly to the moon that they could tell if it is going to rain tomorrow or not. Haha, off the subject I know but I just found it funny that the predictions for that week was rainy all week and sunny on the one day but ended up being perfect weather all week without even a drop until the hour that we started shooting. We were lucky because we managed to get some good time together but we did finish up and walk back in the rain.

It was a pleasure to work with Jenna as she is a really cool and passionate person that I think has the drive to go forward at a rapid pace. She has recently moved to the UK from Australia and is currently writing and recording in studio so look out for her new material that will be along in the not too distant future.

These are just 3 of the photos that I really like from the shoot we did together. The first one we shot under the cover of trees to protect us from the rain and it is one of my favourites of the shoot.

Check out Jenna’s music, it’s very likable.
